कदा पश्यामि विष्णुस्य परमं पदम्

एकं सत् विप्रा वदन्ति । (1)

एकं ज्योति बहुधा विभाति ।  (2)

कथं एकस्मात् बहुत्र उद्भवति । किमर्थं एकः विकरोति अनेकं ।

किं तत् ऐश्वर्यं अस्ति यत् अजं जनियोगं इव दर्शयति । (3)

कथं जानामि यत् वाचा अनभ्युदित येन वाक् अभ्युद्यते । कथं बोधामि यत् मनसा न मनुते येन मनः मतं । कथं अनुभवामि यत् चक्षुषा न पश्यति येन चक्षूंषि पश्यति । (4)

कथं आरोहामि शिखरात् शिखरम् । कदा पश्यामि विष्णुस्य परमं पदम् ।

Wise men say that there is only One Truth.
It is one Light that glitters.
From One how is Many produced?
Why does One become Many?
How will I know That which speech cannot express but through which speech is produced?
How will I understand That which mind cannot conceive but through which mind is comprehended?
How will I feel That which eyes cannot see but through which eyes see?
How will I ascend from peak to peak?
When will I see Vishnus highest step?

कः अहम्

कः अहम् ।

जानामि अहं मम नामं कुलं गोत्रं शाखां वेदं परन्तु न जानामि मम आतमानम् ।

लोकः किमर्थम् आगच्छति एवं किमर्थम् गच्छति ।

नरः कः ।

यथा शब्दाः पाठे सन्ति तथा नराः अतिनरे सन्ति किम्* । तर्हि अतिनरः कुत्र वसति । अथवा किं सः ततः परम् ।

बहिर्बहिः किम् अस्ति । अन्तरन्ते किम् अस्ति ।

न किमपि जानामि न किमपि बोधामि ।

अतः मया शिक्षानीयः । अतः मया ज्ञातव्य । अतः मया बुधेतव्य ।

Who am I?
I know my name, lineage, gotra, shakha and veda, but I don't know myself.
Why do people come and why do they go?
Who is Man?
Just as words make up a lesson, in the same way does Man make up the Superman? Then where does Superman reside? Or is he beyond that?
What is outside of the outside? What is inside the inside?
Neither do I know nor do I understand.
Thus I have to learn, I have to know, I have to understand.
